This is What Fascism Looks Like

FTA:

In what seems like a flagrant breach of First Amendment safeguards, New York lawmakers have drafted twin State Senate and Assembly bills that would force New York-based website administrators to remove “any comments posted on his or her web site by an anonymous poster unless such anonymous poster agrees to attach his or her name to the post and confirms that his or her IP address, legal name, and home address are accurate.”

Sort of negates the whold “anonymous” part, doesn’t it?

A lot of news coming out of North Carolina today, and none of it good.

Senator Al Melvin, Senator Andy Biggs, Senator Don Shooter, Senator Lori Klein, and Senator Steve Smith of the Arizona Senate are hereby charged with the following crimes against Democracy:

  • Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
  • Disdain for Intellectuals and the Arts
  • Obsession with Crime and Punishment
  • Labor Power is Suppressed

Specifically, the proposed law is a form of government-backed censorship that would impair the teaching of several classic works of literature as well as other topics such as sex education, history, and political science, and would apply to all public schools, from preschool to college.

The Tennessee House of Representatives, and in particular Rep. Eric Watson (R) are hereby charged with the following crimes against Democracy:

  • Disdain for the Recognition of Human Rights
  • Identification of Enemies/Scapegoats as a Unifying Cause
  • Obsession with Crime and Punishment

A great piece of street theatre showing the ramifications of the NDAA.
